"is it odd to identify as agender but not have bodily dysphoria? My chest doesn't bother me at *all* and frankly I like sex too much to consider getting anything surgically altered on the downstairs. Does not having a mind/body disconnect invalidate a gender identity?, I guess is what I'm really trying to ask. (i mean yes a tentadick would be awesome but that's me being strange rather than any real dysphoria)" by Anonymous

Hello there,

I have gotten similar questions about this before, so I may have to add something to the FAQ: there is no requisite amount of bodily dysphoria that is required in order to be really [insert sex or gender identity here]. Part of the reason why there is an association is because of the criteria for gender identity disorder (see also here) in order to receive therapy, hormones, and other psychological and/or medical treatment. If you feel fine with your body the way it is, while also identifying as agender, that’s totally okay! Some people feel the same way you do, others want one or more changes with their body (medical or otherwise) - this is all very individual.
